ABOUT
This is how it started: two new-to-towners meet at a tiny church in Middle Tennessee. We are both married to men named Connor and, naturally, become fast friends.
Between bites of Sonic mozzarella sticks and episodes of The Crown, we realize our shared appreciation for interiors that are crafted slowly: with intention, economy, and originality. And we wonder why it’s so hard to find that kind of furniture at an accessible price point.
Time passes. We eat more Sonic, wait for season four of The Crown, and toodle around Middle Tennessee’s endless array of antique shops. When life is filled to the brim with our homes, jobs, and families—chubby toddler and first-time pregnancy included—we decide now is an acceptable time to give it a go.
Named after Emily’s grandparents’ cottage in Missouri with a (wait for it) weeping willow tree in front, we spend our free time sourcing and curating the kind of furniture we love to share in our own homes.
Truthfully, if you gave us free rein to restore our own 19th century cottages, the results would look quite different; they would look authentically us. But you wouldn’t miss the hallmark traits of a slowly crafted interior.
We hope the Willow Cottage collection gives you a sense of the intention, economy, and originality that guides us. We hope it speaks to you, too, and that maybe you’ll find a few heirloom pieces worth placing in your own home.
